OCA conducts BCCI Anti-Doping Programme

Cricketers of the state gained valuable knowledge on doping and its ill effects, thanks of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) organizing the BCCI Anti-Corruption & Anti-Doping Education Programme at OCA Conference Hall, Barabati Stadium here today.

The day-long programme, featuring two sessions, was meant for senior men and women; under-12 men and women, under-19 boys and girls, under-16 boys and girls and support staff of all eight state teams. In his welcome address OCA treasurer Satya Mohanty read out the BCCI Mission Statement on Anti-Corruption & Anti-Doping Education Programme.

The programme was supervised by Dr Abhijit Salvi Officer, BCCI Anti Doping Unit and Dheeraj Malhotra, Officer, BCCI Anti Corruption Unit as resource persons. OCA CEO Bidyut Kumar Nayak, Chief Coordinator Daniel Rout, Media Manager Anjan Kumar Khuntia, Anti Corruption Unit Chief Coordinator Siba Prakash Ghose and Cordinator Saroj Ranjan Kar were present on the occasion.

The programme also featured education on history of doping, doping in cricket, why athletes dope, prohibited list of substance and methods, natural alternatives to chemical supplements, doping control process and much more.
